Following his military service, Dr. Mammen moved to Connecticut where he was offered an opportunity to help establish and develop the dental department at East Hartford Community HealthCare as the center’s first Dental Director. As the Director, Dr. Mammen was instrumental in not only developing the dental department but also worked with other community leaders in establishing the standard of dental care for the community. He held this position from 2002-2007. During this time, Dr. Mammen was also appointed as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where he was responsible for supervising the students and residents in their treatment of patients. In 2005, with his continued commitment to education, Dr. Mammen became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (F.A.G.D.). Only a small percentage of dentists are dedicated to the time and education that is required to accomplish this recognition.
Upon moving to Houston, Dr. Mammen acquired The Smile Enhancement Center where he continues his commitment of excellence in dentistry by providing the highest standard of general and cosmetic dentistry with a personalized touch. Dr. Mammen is here to provide you with all of your dental needs: from a simple filling to full mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Mammen prides himself on providing the best treatment for each individual patient. He and his Team believe that each patient should be treated like family and that every patient deserves to be treated to a warm, relaxed, and caring experience during each visit.
Dr. Mammen is not only committed to providing all of his patients with the very best that modern dentistry has to offer but is continually expanding his own knowledge through continuing education. He currently is attending the world renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). He feels the hands on training and lectures keep him up to date in the cutting edge advancements of dentistry. Dr. Mammen believes every patient should be given the best dentistry has to offer and the only way to do that is to continue to learn.
Dr. Mammen is an active member in the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Greater Houston Dental Society, the Pierre Fauchard Academy (a dental honor society), and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Mammen and his wife, Anju, reside in the Katy area where his wife practices in a thriving pediatric practice. They have 3 wonderful young children: Kiran, Maya, and Naveen who keep them busy outside of their practices. Dr. Mammen is also an avid sports fan. He enjoys playing all sports and spending time with friends and family.
